Technical Program Managers are the core of managing Google's continued growth. As Technical Program Manager based in Latin America, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact. Specifically you will be responsible for driving the progress of various access initiatives focused on education and infrastructure programs that enables users to get easier internet access. These include helping Universities strengthen their ICT services and networks, managing Google products deployments and lots, lots more.
Ideally coming from a senior operations, network infrastructure engineering or deployment specialist background you will have gained extremely strong business project management skills and have great judgement when it comes to evaluating infrastructure challenges and implied cost or engineering efforts. The role is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina or Mexico City, Mexico.
Responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects as part of the LATAM GASP team, working closely with external partners, Google engineers and technical staff to design and launch wireless infrastructure projects in schools and universities.
- Gather requirements and define the scope of the project. Find resources. Develop plans and schedules, with well-defined milestones.
- Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and external to the team
- (customers, partners, etc); escalate issues as necessary.
Requirements:
- Computer Science or Information technology degree. Masters preferred.
- 4 - 6 years experience in an internet networking role.
- Experience managing multiple international projects and people acting as a technical lead.
- Proven ability to work on assignments that require data evaluation, recommendation development, and decision making.
- A self starter with ability to work as part of a team
- Proven experience with Google Apps suite, deployment and configuration
- Excellent scripting skills
- Knowledge of Python and Java programming languages is a plus.
Seeking a candidate with leadership qualities; bilingual in Spanish (written and verbal) Working with faculty and facilitating deployments. CS degree and solid understanding of Google technologies.
